Early Learning

Play-Based Learning for Children Aged 3 to 5, including Early Learning and Daycare

Our play-based environment is guided by the BC Early Learning Framework document which supports the creation of a rich early learning experience and environment that enhances a young child’s natural curiousity to learn.

Why Early Learning Is Important

Current research suggests that there are vital windows of opportunity in a preschool age child’s development that prepares them for academic success later in their life. Rich experiences during the early years strongly influences a love for life-long learning and health. We believe every child deserves this opportunity to succeed!

In early learning, a child can:

  • Establish a lifelong love of learning
  • Learn to be social and play with peers
  • Develop confidence and self-esteem
  • Learn to work in a team
  • Acquire key social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills
  • Learn the value of respectful listening

What Happens At Preschool

Our approach follows the play-based Early Learning Framework. This means the activities your child participates in are not only fun and age-appropriate, but will also encourage learning. Your child will have his or her social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative needs encouraged during an extraordinary time of development and growth.

A day at preschool usually looks like this:

  • Meet and Greet – We say hello and get ready to play and be with our friends.
  • Free Play – A time to play with friends at a variety of stations, such as the house play area, floor toys, blocks, art, painting, puzzles, and much more!
  • A Healthy Snack sent from home
  • Circle Time – singing songs, finger plays, stories, games & sharing.
  • Outdoor Play – On the playground, in the sandbox or in our outdoor kitchen.
  • Home
